2004-03-11 - Paper towels, maybe?:

Sometimes when I feel like I am on a roll, like when I can actually use the expression "I am on a roll!" in a sentence, I realize that I am mistaken, and I am not really on any kind of a roll at all.

It's a stupid expression, anyway. Roll? What is this roll of? How am i "on" it? Honestly. I don't understand where half of the expressions in the English language came from.
