"You were sleepwalking again," she says, propping herself up on her elbow. He half looks at her, rubbing his eyes, pretending not to be embarrassed. Pretends he does not have to sleep fully-clothed, keys and wallet in his pockets, in case he wanders outside, in case she doesn't wake up when it happens. "You do it every night now. I really think you should see a doctor," she says gently. He is sitting on the edge of the bed. He pulls off his shoes and adjusts his socks, pulling them up from where they bunched around his ankles in his sleep. She leans over, observing the bruises, old and new, on his shins. "It's getting worse, you know."
